 Services for LICP Candidates

Personal Information Portfolio

Your Personal Information Portfolio (PIP) is your key to an employer's door.   It will not get you a job; rather, it will get you an interview that may lead to a job.

ViV will assess the Candidate's qualifications against the requirements of the Canada Live-In Caregiver Program and assist in the preparation of a PIP.  Specifically, ViV will:
  • Revise the Candidate's résumé and other information to be included in the PIP so that the Candidate's qualifications match the requirements expected of a live-in caregiver in Canada.
  • Package a PIP for presentation / review / evaluation by prospective employers.
  • Prepare a concise covering letter.
There is no one right PIP.  The right PIP for you is one that sells your strengths in relation to what the employer wants.  It whets the appetite of the employer, stirs his/her interest to learn more about you, and motivates him/her to schedule an interview.   Employers are looking for the best value for their hiring dollar, so we'll make them see what makes you different from other applicants and why you are a cut above the rest.

Caregiver Skills Exposure & Employer Match

About 80%-90% of caregiver jobs available at a given time are not publicized so ViV developed its own creative employer sourcing which allows us to:
  • Facilitate wide exposure of your PIP to Canadian employers.
  • Match your qualifications with employers' requirements.
  • Facilitate caregiver-employer communication.  All communication between caregiver and employer (e-mail, written, verbal) is made through ViV until an offer of employment or employment contract is signed.
  • Arrange telephone interview with employer.
We will also negotiate an employment package beneficial for you, which includes, but is not limited to, salary, work hours, holiday, benefits, living quarters and working conditions and prepare a Live-In Caregiver Employee-Employer contract acceptable to you and the employer.

Profile Media Exposure

You may opt to retain ViV to help you promote your caregiver skills in various media in Canada.  This can be arranged on a pay-per-ad-posted basis.

HRDC Validation, Work Permit and TRV Preparation

The employment contract with your employer will not get you to Canada. Rather, it will allow you to apply for the necessary government permit and visa to be able to work in Canada.  When you are at this stage, ViV can prepare a professionally packaged application to the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) with a covering letter highlighting your qualifications and experience for the Canada Live-In Caregiver Program.   If interview with a visa officer is needed, ViV provides interview guidelines, questions and strategies in answering them.  We track the progress of your application and avoid delays with problems whenever possible.

After your visa is issued, ViV assists in ticketing and relocation arrangements.   Transportation from the airport to the employer's residence will be provided and a one-day orientation with a ViV staff on how to use the transit system (bus, sea bus and sky train), securing a Social Insurance Number (SIN) and other newcomer basics will start you off on the right foot.
